♦ 80 percent of the population lives under the poverty line
♦ Life expectancy is 53 years
♦ Under-five mortality rate of 123 out of 1,000
♦ Half the population does not have access to clean drinking water
♦ Only 28% have access to decent sanitary equipment
♦ 46.2% of men and 50% of women in Haiti are illiterate
♦ Highest incidence of HIV/AIDS outside of Sub-Saharan Africa

HAITI SUPPORT
The Haiti Missionary Support Group will travel to the Caribbean nation once a year, they gather contributions for the people of Cabaret between trips. Collectable items that are needed, range from over-the-counter medicines to basic toiletries.
Some of the most needed items include: Children’s Chewable Multi-Vitamins, Adult Multi-Vitamins, Aspirin, Antacid Tablets, Ibuprofen, Allergy Medicine, Non-Aspirin Pain Reliever (Adult & Children Chewable), Baby Food, Pedia Care, Plastic Baby Bottles, Powdered Baby Formula, Baby Powder, Cloth Diapers, Diaper Pins, Toiletries, Toothpaste, Toothbrush, Shampoo, Lotion, Liquid Soap, Hand Sanitizer, Antibacterial Bar Soap, & Towels (Washcloth & Bath)
