Fun Run Walk 2018
Consideration will only be given for the members activity selection at the time of registration. No changes will be made once races have begun.
Prizes will only be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place 5K Runners, AND, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place Walkers.
Order of events:
A ‘Group’ is defined as Church School Class, Church Organization, e.g., (Deacon Board, Ushers, Deacon Family Ministry, Women’s Ministry, Lilly Grove Chapter Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority). The event is open to the public, but top prize will only be awarded to members of Lilly Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

HERE ARE A FEW HELPFUL TIPS FOR
PREPARING FOR YOUR WALK/RUN TO
A HEALTHIER LIFE.
Please check with your Medical doctor
before beginning any exercise.
Get plenty of sleep the final week before
Think about what you are going to eat the
day before the Walk/Run. Pasta is a great
Pre-Walk/Run meal as it is full of
carbohydrates and tends not to sit heavily
in the stomach.
Drink plenty of water. It’s important that
the body is fully hydrated before the
A good pair of walking/running shoes is
important. Shoes must fit well, giving you
vital support and shock absorption.
It is vital to do some stretching before and
after every walk/run as it will help your
body deal with the physical stress of
exercise and reduce the chance of injury.
Always jog to warm-up before you stretcha
warm muscle is more pliable.
Ease into the stretch – never jerk, bounce
or force a muscle.
Take a deep breath and exhale as you
stretch, holding it in for ten seconds.
