OBJECTIVES OF MINISTRY — Serve as Hospitality Ambassadors

  • Enhance the Lilly Grove worship experience through extending warm, loving, and inviting spiritual hospitality to everyone attending worship services and other key events
  • Align with and support the goals of the Church
  • Bring glory to God by what He achieves through the ministry

FOUR GREETER MINISTRY COMPONENTS — What Greeters Will Do

  1. FIRST GREETING AND WELCOME – CHURCH SERVICES AND SPECIAL EVENTS
  2. MEET AND GREET FOR VISITORS – During Designated Services
  3. .MEET AND GREET RECEPTION FOR NEW MEMBERS (as scheduled)
  4. “GREETING” – AMBASSADORS

 

KEY GREETER REQUIREMENTS – Others may be required

  1. Lilly Grove Member; age 18+; Active in Church School; Complete training.
  2. Personal Competencies/Attributes:
    1. Dependable; mature; initiative; enthusiasm for service; serve with minimal supervision; willing to follow instructions; “People” focused; gift of hospitality; courteous to everyone; encouraging; warm and friendly demeanor; show Fruits of the Spirit.
  1. Willing to make personal sacrifices to serve; willing to contribute to success of the ministry.
  2. Able and willing to serve at least one Sunday each month. Note: Greeters report to duty before worship service or events – usually at least 1 hour before start

RECRUITING AND SELECTION OF GREETERS

  1. Potential members will be recommended or nominated by Greeter Steering Committee, Church School Teachers, Deacons and other leaders.
  2. Greeter Steering Committee (and Church Leaders) will make final selections and provide leadership for communications and training.

 

DRESS/ATTIRE

The Ministry leaders will determine attire and appropriate name badge, etc.

 

SERVING

COMMITMENT:  At least one Sunday per month.   Members are encouraged to volunteer to serve whenever they can.

  1. Greeters serve for both services.
  2. Each Greeter is requested to commit to ONE Sunday a month (referred to as your “Assigned Sunday”).  
  3. On the “Assigned Sunday”, Greeters serve a full shift at both services 
  • For 7:30 service, please arrive by 6:00 am; meet with the Leader for prayer and assignments.  Start greeting by 6:15 am; sit in the assigned seats for Greeters. 
  • For 11 am service, please meet with the Leader in front foyer by 10:15 a.m.to start greeting; sit in the assigned seats for Greeters.
