Pastor's
Pen - Pastor T.K. Anderson
| |
Rev.
Terry K. Anderson, Pastor |
|
| |
|
|
Terry
K. Anderson accepted Christ as his personal Savior during
his youth and was baptized at the Greater True Light Baptist
Church in Eunice, Louisiana. It was there that he accepted
his call to the gospel ministry in 1977 and later returned
as pastor. Reverend Anderson was asked to fill the shoes of
his childhood pastor and late mentor at Greater True Light
Baptist Church in 1980. Three short years into his tenure
at Greater True Light, Rev. Anderson was also asked to pastor
the Zion Travelers Baptist Church in Mamou, Louisiana.
He served in concurrent pastoral roles at these two churches
for seven years. On December 8, 1990, Rev. Anderson became
the fourth pastor of Lilly Grove Missionary Baptist Church
and preached his first sermon as pastor on December 30, 1990.

The anointing that rests on the life of Pastor Anderson has
allowed the evangelism, ministry, fellowship, and discipleship
activities of the Lilly Grove church family to overflow. The
preached Word is now received each week by more than 5000
Lilly Grove members. Pastor Anderson calls everyone who attends
Lilly Grove to experience the Joy we are each invited to receive
when we accept Christ into our lives. |

Rev.
Carlos Washington, Associate Pastor |
|
| |
 |
|
As
a 12-year-old, Carlos Washington joyfully confessed Christ
as his personal Savior in the Jordan Grove Missionary Baptist
Church of Houston, Texas. Rev. Washington was a faithful member
there nearly 20 years. He accepted the call to the gospel
ministry in 1989; and was subsequently asked to serve as the
first Assistant Pastor of Jordon Grove, a position he held
for six years. In
1999, Reverend Washington joined the Lilly Grove Baptist
Church under the dynamic leadership of Pastor T. K. Anderson.
On January 2000, Pastor Anderson affirmed Rev. Washington
before the congregation as the Youth and Children's Pastor.
That department continues to develop into a program that
is recognized regularly on local, state, and national levels. |
|
| |
After
a short tenure as a part time servant in the church, Pastor
Anderson asked Rev. Washington to assume his current role
of full time Associate Pastor. Rev. Washington now focuses
his time on providing Christian counseling and assisting Pastor
Anderson in day-to-day pastoral responsibilities. |
